Georgia

Batumi & Tbilisi, Georgia

I really enjoyed my time in Georgia. We had two very different experiences in the two cities. In Batumi, we stayed at a wonderful resort style hotel. My husband had seen this particular hotel years ago and it had been on his bucket list to stay in- little did we know it was about 3 hours from the capital. However, it was a dream stay – more on that later. Tbilisi, is a charming city. We only had two days there and one of the days rained quite a bit so we only had one full day of exploration, but we walked a bunch and saw so much along the way.

Where to Stay

Now to the good stuff lol.

You must try to make some time to go to Paragraph Hotel. This hotel was great for us parents and for the kids. They have an indoor aquarium. You walk through this giant tunnel and see all these first. On the other side of this huge aquarium is a restaurant with delicious food. Pro tip: Grab a booth right next to the fish to keep your kids entertained while you enjoy your dinner. There’s also multiple pools which are all heated. There’s indoor and outdoor pools so the season doesn’t matter. Not to mention for those who don’t have kids, or who are looking for a break there is a spa. This spa is huge, it’s next level- I HIGHLY recommend checking it out. Oh – and if you do have kids, the hotel also offers a kids club for children 3 and up. Usually, I love to go out and explore, get a sense of culture, but sometimes a girl needs a break. This stay felt like such a luxury, and if you’re looking for a stay where you can just unplug, relax, and enjoy your stay without having to plan much. This is for you. I’ve included some photos, so you can see for yourself how great this hotel is. Oh and the Sunset’s are next level.

We didn’t just stop at one city, you know we had to take some time to explore the country- so we did spend a couple days in the capital. It felt small, yet charming. There was quite a bit to do I’d recommend giving yourself at least two or three days. We went during low season so it did rain one day so we really only had one full day to see as much as we could with two under two, but the time that we did have I really enjoyed. The city felt very walkable. It felt Honestly, one of the things I loved here too, was the food. The food was amazing and it all felt so cheap. We paid about $70 USD and when I tell you we basically ordered the whole menu I mean it. We had about 4 apps and 4 entrees, maybe even more and figured we’d take food back to the hotel if we didn’t finish. We stayed at the Moxy, but I wouldn’t really recommend unless you are a solo traveler- the rooms were very tight although they were in a good location. I’d instead recommend one of the hotels linked.

Things To Do the best thing you can do do is take a walk! You can see so much of the town on foot. Take a walk through the park, check out the Mtkvari River, book a boat ride through if you’d like. Check out Metekhi Church, the Bridge of Love, Leghvtakhevi Waterfall, botanical Gardens, and Narikala Fortress. If you have some time to venture don’t skip the Chronicles of Georgia and if you’re not scared of heights take that cable car up to Narikala Fortress!
